What are you yearning for? Fame? Money? Good food (why not)? True connections? For me, it has always been power. Someone once said that one cannot have enough of it, but I am here to factually negate this.
Reading my previous blogs, you might think I was privileged enough to pursue all those endeavors. In reality, yes, I was. But there's one thing I carry that many do not—courage. I take complete credit for it. This trait is something I wish was more common among us IITians because if we are to solve problems for those MNCs, who will solve the problems of the people residing in 80% of India?
Before arriving here, I did not know I would stay for more than two days, nor that would I be able to form a company with a projected 1,000-crore valuation in two years that solves the 1,000/10,000 problems of Rural Himachal. I did not know I could decentralize investment with a 30% financial return on investment and an infinite percentage in value or happiness they are getting.
All I can recall is that I never stepped back from exploring, solving, and connecting with anyone. No harassment, societal expectations, or harsh physical existence after being raised with all the privileges could discourage me. This is really all it took.
I do not know how to code a successful algorithm or analyze large chunks of data, but I am confident that no investor can turn me down—and they never did. I am confident that, as an engineer, I can generate electricity from wind, create a dreamy resort from mud and waste materials, and grow food from barren land. And if this initiative requires me to invent a supercomputer, I can, because most tech comes from the need for its execution, and here we are working for the ecosystem in need.
I wish for all of us to unlearn societal codes and embrace the power of belief. It will not make you hungry; rather, it will satiate it.
PS: I will update you about the startup in the next blog as a commitment to be more regular 😣
